Mental Health America of Northeast Indiana (MHANI) is pleased to announce a partnership with Manchester University to host The Art of Hope at Manchester University’s Gallery 101.
The show will run from October 21, 2019 through January 24, 2020, with an opening reception to be held on October 24, 2019.
About The Art of Hope
Mental illness and wellness is one of the most pervasive topics within our society. This has brought greater awareness to the cause, but the conversations aren’t often positive, inciting hopelessness, shame, and stigma.
The Art of Hope intends to change the conversation around mental illness and wellness. Art pieces will recognize the darkness of mental illness, while also highlighting the hope of recovery. There are two sides to the coin – and The Art of Hope will showcase both.
Featuring artwork from artists who have experienced mental health challenges, the show will encourage candid conversations around mental illness and wellness and provide an opportunity for artists and visitors alike to express their mental health experiences and struggles.
